Bon Epi

Bon Epi
Diamond Jamboree Center, Irvine

Inviting, ready to charm and serve. Bread and pastries, always fresh and warm out of the oven. Almost too perfect. Yet I swoon. I received several coupons at the grand opening for discounted treats.

Up to standard with 85 C Bakery. I was blown away, as I didn't expect this would be as neat and clean. Organized and friendly. I enjoyed this. Small indoor seating area, but it hosts the same amount as 85 C Bakery, indoors, and outdoor there are even more seat. Better location, with view of Jamboree, and nice outdoor seating area. Plus free wifi. Prices are the same. This place is great!

Not as many bread options as 85 C, and nevertheless, I like the atmosphere more here. It's all about the light and the service. It's cleaner and more colorful, slightly. Still with a contemporary feel.

Tea here is also a delight. I always opt for Jasmine Green. $2.50 for largest size.

Cheers:
They are neck to neck with 85 C on prices. Quality, large pastries for a $1! Nice. They are also indulgent, not in the gross way. These are gourmet and a real treat. Don't forget: Free WiFi!

Custard Bun ($1.25)
Looked like mayo inside, but did have sweetness. It wasn't my thing, the shell of baked dough was lovely though -- fluffy, as they all are. I like the shell.

Red Bean Bun ($1)
Fantastic! Full of red bean, Full! There was good, full red bean in this, smooth, no texture of bean it was so smooth. This was lovely. Sweet for sure. But I couldn't stop scraping the inside. There was body to this.

Iced tea green ($2.25), large
