The Omelette Parlor

The Omelette Parlor
Hidden on 17th Street, Costa Mesa

Probably the most affordable and yummy, enjoyable place to experience omelettes and breakfasts here in Orange County, and I mean in terms of the family, comfortable-casual style.

Cheers:
So affordable. Huge omelette servings with combos for under $8. All other sides are a bargain. This is right behind the Outback Steakhouse on 17th, next to Newport Blvd. sit in a little wooden booth. The room is intimate in character. There are leather upholstered booths as well. This environment reminded me of Old Knott's Berry Farm. There was an old wooden horse & buggy cart hanging from the ceiling.

The dining room is set in an old barn, at least that's what it feel like. There are floating tables in the center of the room on a risen platform, while a huge stream of natural light shines down to illuminate the entirety of the restaurant. The place is always bubbling over with hungry lumberjacks in the morning and families, ready for a good meal. This is one that least your tummy smiling.

And the Apple Butter...? To die for. Spread some of this mouth-watering spread upon some lightly toasted bread, and you'll close your eyes with a smirk. So good...

Egg White Omelette with Caramelized Onion and Green Onion.

Surprisingly, this was not oily! this was great. It was literally packed inside with onions, caramelized, and not strewn but packed. The egg white was a shell. Lots of fillings. Comes with good hearty whole wheat toast and big juicy strawberries, per request. The tea was my order on the side.

There was a serving of Apple Butter (imported from Texas) on the side. Tasted of brown sugar and molasses, smoothe, light grain texture. This was great apple butter.. very sweet though! I want to buy a jar. they sell this big jar for 5.50. I should get one (yum, sweet though, too sweet for regular whole wheat toast).
