Cafe Rustica

Cafe Rustica
Carmel Valley, CA
September 29, 2010

On a warm summer day, why not sit outside? We enjoyed our meal out in the courtyard. I will say, it was rather warm, even in the shade. The service was wonderful and the meal was more than I could handle in quantity with just one plate. The experience today was made well because of our good company. It was a day to celebrate the reunion of friends. We chose this place because it would be easy; it was not about the cuisine, though the meal was good. Nothing exceptional, but good. I left a happy traveler.
Morgan Vineyard, Sauvignon Blanc
8 a glass. Very nice flavor. Easy to drink and crisp, not grassy at all. This one is lovely.

Bread was fresh and soft. A lovely rustic bread.

Special: Tri-tip salad
with caramelized onions, baby tomatoes, lightly grilled squash,
and zucchini on bed of butter lettuce [$10]

This was yummy. Too much for me to eat, but delicious. The meat was rich and tender. I enjoyed this.

Cheers:
$10 for that salad/feast above is quite a steal. Wouldn't you say? The wines are fair-priced as well. This was an easy, pleasant dining experience. You won't leave hungry. Don't count on it being healthy! Come here with self-control and you'll be fine.
